Affirmology - Logo Decision (v1 lock)
Date: 2026-06-27
Status: v1 LOCKED, pending a gut-check with Sol and Colin (they may prefer the one-orb only; Jeff is fine with that simplification).
The mark: "Orbit Star"
A gold, faceted eight-point compass-rose star (the person) sitting inside a gold circle crossed by a tilted elliptical orbit that carries gold orb(s) (the cosmic blueprint, in motion). Deep emerald background.
- Meaning: the star is you; the circle plus the tilted orbit and its orb(s) are your cosmic blueprint. Compass = guidance and direction; the atom-style orbit = the "operating system." Star = person, constellation/orbit = blueprint.
- Palette (locked brand): emerald base
#0a2014 / #082c18, gold #c89b3c / #d9b15a, bright gold highlight #ecd9a8. Star is uniform polished gold with light/dark facet shading for depth (no brown, no two-tone back spokes).
- Wordmark: AFFIRMOLOGY in Cinzel (Trajan-style caps), with the tagline "Subconscious operating system" tracked to span the wordmark width.
The system (responsive logo)
- PRIMARY / hero: the TWO-ORB version (one orb upper-right, one lower-left on the orbit). Balanced and richest. Use on the deck, web, marketing, large app icon.
- SMALL / icon variant: the ONE-ORB version (single orb upper-right, sitting where the circle and the ellipse converge). Cleaner, holds up at favicon and small app-icon sizes. Same mark minus one element.
- This is a standard responsive-logo setup: simplify, never redesign. The constant is the star + circle.
Atlas (the studio app, sister mark)
Atlas gets its own icon: a golden astrolabe (ornate concentric zodiac rings with a small celestial sphere/star core) on deep emerald. Chosen because Atlas is an internal tool with few icon uses, so it can carry more detail; the main use is a premium homescreen feature button. It echoes the Orbit Star's rings/cosmos language but is clearly distinct. Reference vibe: antique brass astrolabe / armillary sphere. Final selection pending (the cleaner astrolabe, ring at top removed).
Backgrounds
All marks use the richer, deeper emerald radial background (#0e3a24 center to #0a2014 edge), not the older flat green. Applied to the two-orb, one-orb, and astrolabe.
Production notes
- Built via Nano Banana (Pro / 2) over the emerald-gold brand; Jeff refined the one-orb in Canva (the lower-left facet was added by hand, so keep that leg).
- Vector rebuild was explored (
Affirmology_LogoConcepts_v5.html) but Jeff prefers the Nano raster look; final masters are the raster images.
- Concept exploration history:
Affirmology_LogoConcepts_v1.html through v5.html in this folder.
Next steps (to finalize the asset set)
- Jeff uploads the two final PNGs (two-orb and one-orb) as file attachments so they are accessible as files.
- Generate the iOS app-icon set (1024 master + all required sizes) from the two-orb (primary).
- Generate the small-icon set + favicon (16, 32, 48, 180, 192, 512) from the one-orb (variant).
- Produce transparent-background cutouts and the AFFIRMOLOGY wordmark lockup.
- Save all into
Brand/.
